A Perfect lunch

I seem to be always out somewhere, looking for the next great meal. On Friday, I
had one at Baroods Restaurant and Creperie at 18 Franklin St. in Lenox.
I was looking for a quick, casual lunch, so I ordered the basic — a buckwheat
crepe with ham and Swiss, ($6), with salad ($3). The crepe came, folded into a
large rectangle, topped with a gorgeous mix of greens, dressed with a perfect
vinaigrette. It was heaven. The warm crepe smelled delicious, and it looked
beautiful on the big white plate. The cheese had a mild but distinctive Swiss
flavor; the ham was delicate and the crepe was perfectly cooked.
I don't usually eat ham, but it was so good, a perfect lunch. So, of course I had to
try a dessert. I ordered the caramelized apples, folded into a crepe, dusted with a
little powdered sugar. Bliss.
I was sorry I was alone — if I had been with a friend, I could have shared the
yummy noises. As it was, I was outwardly quiet, but inside I was saying, "this is
fabulous!"
